CORONAVIRUS

Due to the lockdown, our door is closed and you can only be invited for an appointment by GP or nurse after being screened by telephone triage first.

STAY AT HOME

Everyone must stay at home to help to the spread of coronavirus. Failure to do so puts lives at risk unnecessarily.
You can only go out for the following reasons:

  • shopping for necessities (for example for food or medicine) as infrequently as possible
  • one form of exercise per day (i.e. run, walk or cycle) alone or with members of your household
  • any medical need (including to donate blood) avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • travelling for work purposes only if you cannot work from home


You must still maintain a distance of 2 meters apart from anyone outside of household, and keep time spent outside to a minimum.

DO NOT GO TO YOUR GP SURGERY, HOSPITAL OR PHARMACY IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS.

Community Midwives

A small team of community midwives offer appointments at Brentwood Community Hospital for routine antenatal care. They are accessed by self-referral on 01277 695082.

Community Nurses

There is a district nursing team available in the local area, employed by NHS South West Essex. They are led by a team of modern matrons who evaluate nursing needs and discuss with a patient how to best manage their care.

It is sometimes necessary for us to share information about our patients with members of the district nursing team; please advise the reception team if you do not want us to share your medical record in this regard.

There is a health visitor available in the local area. She works with babies, families and elderly patients. You may contact the health visitor direct for advice and parenting issues.

Counsellors

Vita Minds – 01268 977 171

There are high intensity and low intensity therapists and counsellors available in the local area. You can self-refer by contacting Vita Minds on 01268 977 171. Vita Minds will ensure that people living in South West Essex are able to access the right sort of psychological therapy to suit their mental health needs.
